CHARLESTON The governor of West Virginia has announced he has COVID-19.

Gov. Jim Justice tested positive late Tuesday afternoon after the sudden onset of symptoms, the governor’s office said. Justice, who is fully vaccinated and boosted, is experiencing mild symptoms and is isolating at home.

Justice is being treated by several physicians including family physician Dr. Gary Poling and Dr. Clay Marsh, West Virginia’s COVID-19 adviser.

Everyone who the governor has been in close contact with over the past few days is being notified, the governor’s office said. He is in communication with his chief of staff and office staff to ensure that state government continues to operate smoothly.

Justice also tested positive for COVID-19 in January 2022.
